When I organize events, I like to "go big or go home." When I was asked to create a day around Finnish culture for the West Beach Film Festival, I knew it had to be more than just a film screening—it had to be an experience.

What started as a simple idea turned into a 350-person festival celebrating Finnish sauna culture, music, food, karaoke, and art. The Finnish Ambassador to the Netherlands gave a speech, and a Finnish film lit up the big screens.

Community is always at the heart of what I do. From the very beginning, I involved the Finnish community in the Netherlands —together, we selected the film and co-created the program. The festival organizers told me they reached out because they knew: I get people moving.
